CONCEPT

Hura, meaning ‘free’ in Arabic, uses materials found in refugee camps. This chair can be shape shifted using simple wooden panels that are inserted on the sides. From being inspired by LEGO as my memory, I wanted to add a playful element to this chair for children in the camps to have a chair that is functional yet exciting to explore.

My aim for this project was to make it as personal as possible, using memories. my first thought was lego. I took inspiration from how lego pieces fit together and also, how they were widely used children. From this, I formulated a concept that would contain modules.
